A long waiting new post-Tainan trip on Sep 19

I will never tell the truth about how long I postponed this post!!! This was on Mid-Autumn festival long holidays. One day before the trip I cooked for my high school friends—>Will be another food post. The next day I decided to go on a bike tour to Tainan, but of course, not all the way to Tainan since I didn’t have good equipment.
I rented Ubike near my house and went until the most north stop in Kaohsiung: 路竹車站. And then I took the train for 15 min to the most south stop in Tainan: 保安車站. I rented Tbike, the public bike system in Tainan, and started biking to the downtown.

Honestly, I didn’t like the biking within Kaohsiung. The weather was good and the road was smooth to ride, but Ubike is not good enough for a long ride, and there was nothing to see along the road. I almost fell asleep or tried to high-five people waving the bus in the bus stop. Next time unless I have a better bike, I wouldn’t want to ride on that road again.

The first stop in Tainan is the traditional Taiwan pancake shop: 燒餅. It was on the list of recommended breakfast. I bought one savory and one sweet. Comment: nothing special. But I was way too hungry after the long ride. Then, I moved on to the daily breakfast that residents in Tainan will have: fish soup and meat rice. I felt so blessed after having the fish soup. The fish is called 虱目魚, the fish I never thought I would fall in love with because it has way too many bones. But shops in Tainan always make it boneless, such an amazing skill. Thats why I started to eat this kind of fish. The meat rice was not good, but I was satisfied with the fish soup.

Bike tour is always like this: you have to spend a lot of time of biking and leave not much time for each stop. After the quick breakfast I went to a coffee bar and had a super expensive cup of latte. And I saw the handsome owner, just as described in the blog post I found. ->That’s the reason why I came to this coffee bar? Haha.

Tainan has so many good coffee shops, all hiding inside the alley. I decided to choose one to relax a bit, as well as change my clothes. The coffee shop is called: The original place 最初的地方, two floors building and very narrow. I ordered some cake and a glass of black tea. The atmosphere was relaxing and I got a good rest there.

After a while, I realized it was already 3pm, I have to move on to the next stop, but I didn’t actually have plan. So I just roamed along street, went to several tourist attractions, feeling the atmosphere of this oldest town in Taiwan. I found my favorite soy bean milk place, I went from the East part to the West part near the coastline. I was going to take a walk in the old street, but there were way too many people.

The rest of trip in Tainan was like collecting the stamp in each stop. As what I said before, biking will take a lot of time in the trip. Today was a slow travel day, didn’t do much, but I got another check on the TO-DO list in Taiwan.
