Half pushed and half forced by my friends, I held the food party again! But this time is at my house. I have to say that I really love cooking at my house because I am familiar with all equipment and the kitchen.
Before I left Taiwan, I held two times food parties. The first time were just for high school friends. The second time was because OAB’s mom loved my food too much, she insisted having one more time food party before I go to Vietnam haha. But I told her, next time I can go to their house and cook for them. After all, it is not so convenient for the whole family member including an energetic baby to travel all the way to my house. I was surprised that I can be so closed with my high school friends’ family, even OAB’s sister joined the party.
Actually, I rarely changed the menu of the food party because I felt confident at those familiar dishes. I loved to cook sauerkraut, salmon pasta, lasagna, broccoli salad, veg sticks with ranch dressing, banana chocolate cake, pot to feu. Those dishes are I usually cook, and I know those dishes will suit every picky eaters’ taste.

I loved cooking for them. The only problem is, I always over estimated the number of guests haha. But my dear friends took everything home, which saved me a lot of work! Well, they always said I am so good at cooking, why don’t I open up a restaurant? I don’t want though. Running a restaurant needs more attention on making profits, instead of considering what to offer on the menu. I enjoy the process of thinking what I should cook and how I can change the recipes. If I spend time on always trying to make ends meet, I wouldn’t have much time preparing the food. So, in the future, if I don’t have to work, I would like to open up a private kitchen, only for my friends, not really for making money. In the free time when I don’t have guests, I can polish the plating skills, or opening up some cooking workshops. I would like to have that kind of life and I am confident to have enough financial support to achieve this goal.
Cooking is really fun and I really enjoy it. I realized this is my true hobby since I just graduated. After a long tiring working day and after practicing dancing, I always went home and prepare my next day bento until 12am. That is when I knew I really love cooking. That was also why I went to LCB afterwards. I don’t like to work in a restaurant or running a restaurant. Instead, I like to stand in the kitchen for the whole day, enjoying turning all ingredients to dishes. Even now, reading recipe is a must-to-do thing before going to bed. I believe I can say that out loud: I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY!!!
