As a picky eater, I rarely dine out. I cook at home for most of the time. That is why every time I have a chance to dine out, I am very picky at what restaurant I am going to. Today, I want to introduce four restaurants I went to before I came back to Vietnam.
BELLINI Pasta 台北京站店


Sometimes I am craving for pasta, and I love Carbonara pasta because I always fail when making it. The egg yolk always turns into scrambled eggs haha. This pasta restaurant is Japanese style and it is pretty famous and has many branches in Taipei. The price is not cheap of course. I ordered a salad and my favorite pasta. The portion is okay but I would like them to use linguine or fettuccine instead of pasta though, because the wider noodles can soak up more sauce. The traditional Carbonara pasta doesn’t have cream, only egg yolk, parmesan cheese, pancetta, and white wine. I don’t mind they use bacon to replace pancetta since this ingredient is rare in Taiwan. But every time if I saw they add cream into Carbonara, I would not order it. I always remember what my chef said, THERE IS NO CREAM IN CARBONARA!!! Using cream is easy to make than using egg yolk, since it wouldn’t become scrambled eggs! That is why many restaurants add cream into it. Fortunately, Bellini pasta didn’t use cream, and it tastes so smooth. I like it~ This restaurant reaches the good quality level of chain pasta restaurants:)
Coppii Lumii living coffee 冉冉生活(城中)



This brunch restaurant has been on my list for a long time. It has three branches, and the menu is different from other brunch restaurants. Many brunch restaurants always have fixed menu like scrambled egg with bacon, ham, hash brown, toast, etc. But Coppii Lumii offers their customers to choose what is inside the breakfast plate, and customers can add extra side into it. Moreover, the side dishes are different from other brunch shops. They have meatballs, warm soup, grilled sweet potatoes, truffle scrambled eggs, grilled vegetables, etc. I ordered a set breakfast plate and extra soup and a carrot cake. I didn’t know the soup came out to be so large! I didn’t finish everything and I took away the rest of carrot cake. I have been wanting to try carrot cake, but their carrot cake is too sweet for me. I recommended this restaurant because I like to choose my own side dishes, instead of always ordering the set one on the menu. This brunch restaurant is very popular, but the spacious area allows a larger amount of customers at one time. However, it did sacrifice some quietness and peaceful time for each customer, since too much human talking voice, can’t even hear the background music.

Become brunch 大安
I found out this healthy-style brunch shop on Instagram. It looks pretty new, serving an Australian style breakfast. The place is tiny, with large window at front. There are not many seats inside, but actually it was almost full. The one I ordered is the vegetarian omelet with avocado, and I added one extra pesto chicken breast. The restaurant is still developing their menu, so there are not many choices. But each dish on the menu looks unique, not like normal brunch menu. Following their Instagram, they published many new dishes recently. It seems that they have many interesting brunch ideas. I would like to try again after I go back to Taiwan.

Why only two photos?! Because the rest of food is inside my belly haha. This steak house is the traditional old-style Taiwanese steak house. My dad loves their bread and always wants to take me here. It happened we want to dine out and luckily we got a seat without waiting too long. Dinning here makes me remember when we were children, we always look forward to going to steak house, (of course not as expensive as this one). At that time, the steak house always have the salad bar, that’s always kids’ favorite. The food is good of course, and their specialty is bread with a special side dish. I don’t know the ingredient name in English, but it is leek stir-fried with fermented black beans. It is spicy, and it goes well with the bread. I never know this kind of side dish will show up in Western steak house haha. But, that night, the food was not important, the important thing is my little date with my dad before I went to Vietnam:)
