The TEVERE

Today is my mom and I’s little date. We sneaked out on a weekday to the city center but I already forgot what was the purpose haha. Anyway, we visited a good Italian restaurant, The Tevere. As I mentioned before, Vietnamese people love to put restaurants inside garden, and this one is not an exception. The location is pretty hard to find because the front gate is behind the gray wall. It was not a big restaurant but the ceiling is high, so we don’t feel pressured. There was only another table of customers inside the restaurant, well of course, today is a weekday. And the number of wines on the shelf is definitely more than the number of staff and customers in the restaurant!

I chose this restaurant because I was craving for tuna steak, and it has tuna steak salad so I can order it as well as my favorite carbonara pasta. My mom ordered the most normal one, white wine with clam, and we also ordered a big pizza-get ready for take away! The bread is yummy, so I saved it for my mom. She loves bread with butter. Since we don’t have this often, I let her eat everything. The tuna salad is so refreshing and I love my creamy pasta. It was not carbonara but close to it. The pizza is creamy too, but seems to be less salty. The portion is small, which is good for us since we love to order a lot of food. But I still took away the pizza, it was way too big.

As I said before, I don’t dine out often, but I love to go to Italian restaurants to try their pasta, especially carbonara. It is so hard to make good carbonara. Also, I love all kinds of shape of noodles. And pizza, I only eat pizza in restaurants. That was why last time when I visit woolloomooloo Taipei I ordered a 10 inch pizza by myself and took away haha. But it was a pity because we only had two people, it would be definitely more fun if my sister also comes!
