Living in Vietnam has an advantage: It is affordable to go through all luxurious hotels in the city without spending a lot of money. Therefore, whenever my sister and I have time, we will go stay in a luxurious hotel for 1 night and go around many restaurants to enjoy those food which can only be found in TP. HCM.

Within all hotels, actually Sofitel Saigon Plaza is our favorite. The room is really good, the food is amazing since this is a French hotel, and the price is inexpensive. We will go to these hotels’ restaurant, and we found out hotel food in TP. HCM is quite good, very different from the previous impression that hotel food is expensive and disgusting. Even the room service is above normal level.

Today I introduced hotel food in 2 high class hotels. The first one is Park Hyatt Saigon. Park Hyatt Saigon has bakery bar and lounge. Actually their menu in the lounge is quite a lot, they even offer afternoon tea. We have tried breakfast and afternoon tea already. I would recommend the breakfast. As for the afternoon tea, the savory food and the scone are amazing, but the desserts are way too sweet. However, I wouldn’t say no directly to come back for afternoon tea, because the set offers free flow for drinks. Last time my mom and I had 7 cups of drinks there, the value of those drinks is already over the fee for afternoon tea set per person haha.

Those tiny savory burgers and bagels are really yummy and unique. The scones maintain its traditional flavor. But only the small cakes are too sweet. The portion of the food was small, but adding up 7 cups of drinks in our belly, we were quite full! One thing I must mention is that their tea is very good! All teas we ordered are served freshly. They will make the tea after you order. And they offer a large selection of tea.

And then the below is the breakfast dishes. The croissant and salad are the best, pancake is okay. We also had other food like Vietnamese pork chop rice. That was was not good though. I still recommend the Western style. Unfortunately they don’t have the full items on the menu, probably still being affected by the Covid. But the quality of ingredients is really good, I can tell.

And then it comes Sofitel Saigon Plaza. We have visited this hotel for many time. Even last time before I went back to Taiwan, I stayed in Sofitel for 2 days. At that time, they offered me in-room breakfast and it was super good! They kept everything warm and clean, all covered with plastic lid. They really have good service!

This was last time I brought my mom to their cafe at the second floor. We love this cafe because last time when we stayed at their luxurious room, they offer free evening food in this cafe. At that time, we only ordered a little bit food since we had another restaurant to visit. One of the dish was the Nicoise salad. The tuna they used inside the salad was tuna steak and the portion was really big. We loved it so much. So this time my mom and I came back for that plate of salad. And we also order some other dishes. The only problem was inside the cheese plate, my mom accidentally tried the goat cheese haha. She was so mad at me because I forgot to tell the staff we didn’t want goat cheese. She thought that looks like her favorite brie cheese and she took a big bite!!

Le bistro 17 is the name of the cafe. It also offers business lunch. I don’t know how often they change the menu, but I really love their food. Hope next time when I come back, they have more items on the menu! I will order the cheese plate and Nicoise salad again. But this time I will remember to remove goat cheese or blue cheese inside the cheese plate!!!
